EID HIJAB STYLES : MODERN ISLAMIC CLOTHING

For today’s Eid Hijab Styles post, I want to direct your attention to some of the beautiful Islamic clothing that is offered by Shukr. THE RUNWAY :

Tribal prints were a big fashion trend for Spring 2008 Ready-To-Wear runway collections. Many of the major fashion designers showcased at least one outfit that included this trend and some of them based their entire collections around it…

1. ETRO’s Spring 2008 Ready-To-Wear collection included an eclectic mix of bright colors and bohemian elements. This dress is the most subtle piece in Etro’s collection because it includes a very small tribal print at the neckline. This would probably be hidden by our hijab, but the shape of this dress is perfect for Muslim women (with a little layering of course).

2. DKNY is always on target when it comes to vibrant city chic and this pocketed maxi-dress is a perfect example of that. I love the orange color and large graphic print on this dress. It’s trendy without being too literal and the length is great for hijabi Muslimahs.

3. DIANE VON FURSTENBERG is known for her feminine wrap-dresses, so of course she’d translate the tribal trend into an airy chiffon frock. She included a few dresses like this in her Spring 2008 collection, sometimes going the extra mile by topping them off with head-wraps.

4. OSCAR DE LA RENTA designed tribal-printed skirt suits for a sophisticated take on the trend. This one includes a collage of textures and prints with a deep red hue to make the neutral color-palette pop.

OUR WAY :

Vibrant short-dresses to wear with pants and a jacket, shrug, or long-sleeve tee. Tribal-print maxi dresses to layer similarly. And tribal-inspired accessories to easily integrate this trend into any wardrobe.

HIJAB APPROVED : VICTORIA’S SECRET

This edition of Hijab Approved features 3 lovely maxi dresses from Victoria’s Secret. Now, I know that VS isn’t the first thing that comes to mind when you’re thinking of modest clothing, but, there are a number of things to love about these dresses… They’re super long (41″ from the waistline), fashion-forward (all three fall in line with a major fashion trend for Spring 2008), and loose enough to be worn with a variety of toppers (jackets and cardigans).

Dress #1: Crochet-trim Maxi Dress

This dress falls in line with the Safari trend because of its khaki color. In keeping with that trend, you could wear this one with a Safari style jacket and an animal print hijab.

Dress #2: Halter Maxi Dress

This dress has a very bright and busy print that is reminiscent of the Tribal trend. To break up such a busy print, you’ll want to wear this dress with solid colors that are found within the print itself. One option would be to wear it with a white jacket or cardigan and a yellow hijab.

Dress #3: Long Halter Dress

This dress is very Boho-Chic. An easy way to style this one would be to pair it with a brown cardigan and a soft pink hijab to tie it all together.
