HALAL BEAUTY: THE FIG
A product does not have to be certified as halal in order to be halal (permissible for Muslim women to use). The products featured in Halal Beauty are halal because they do not contain any pork-by-products. This week, we’re focusing on The Fig.
The fact that there is an entire surah in the Qur’an named after the fig is proof that the fig is a fabulous fruit. Skin care companies are starting to catch on as well and are creating bath and body products that include figs in their lists of ingredients.
What makes figs so appealing is that they are rich in antioxidants – which protect skin from the damaging effects of the environment – and they are very moisturizing and soothing to the skin. Figs also have a sweet fragrance that’s almost luxurious to indulge in. What’s not to love?
