HIJAB STYLE REMIX

This Hijab Style Remix features Rachel Bilson in an easy, casual look that’s pretty modest as it is. To make the look more hijab friendly, I added wider-legged jeans, a longer undershirt (for more coverage in the front), and of course a black hijab. Since I prefer to be a little more polished, I chose accessories that are less casual than Rachel’s, but I stayed with the color theme because I think it really works. What do you think about this Hijab Style Remix?

HIJAB STYLE REMIX : BLAKE LIVELY

I love the look of wearing a cropped vest over a long shirtdress and this modesty makeover featuring Blake Lively is the perfect opportunity to showcase that style. What I love about Blake’s look is that it combines a classic striped shirt with modern pants and trendy oxford pumps. I also like how the pop of red in the shoes turns her otherwise conservative outfit into something a little more fashiondy.

To make this outfit hijab-friendly, I chose a striped shirtdress (which I own and love!), wide-leg jeans and a white pashmina to finish off the look. As for the vest, since they’re usually tight on the body, the best way for hijabis to wear them is to simply leave them unbuttoned. All in all, you get that classic menswear-inspired look while leaving your stylish modesty completely in intact.

HIJAB STYLE REMIX : JULIANNE MOORE

When we found this picture of Julianne Moore online, we immediately fell in love with the pretty fuchsia color of her dress. To the average girl, her look is probably conservative because the dress is knee-length and it has long sleeves. But for Muslim women, of course, Julianne’s outfit needs a few extra pieces in order to make it modest enough for us to wear.

The key to recreating the look was to find a dress that had a similar bright color. We chose black and white pieces to complete the outfit because the dress is supposed to be the main focal point. However, you could always add some metallic accessories or a colorful hijab to give the ensemble a little more flavor!
