HIJAB STYLE FINDS : FANCY MAXI SKIRTS

Lately, I’ve been thinking about learning how to sew maxi skirts. I think they’d be pretty easy to make–if I could only figure out how to sew in a straight line (hehe). Since maxi skirts are on my mind, I decided to make a quick post featuring some fancy maxi skirts that would transition perfectly from the winter to spring/summer seasons. Right now, you can wear them with blazers and boots. In the summer time, wear them with casual long-sleeve tees and lightweight wrap cardigans. And of course, top off the look with a pretty hijab. Check out more lovely skirts below.

Assalamalaikum, Great pictures and article but I find it weird that you post pictures of women with no tops on showing their skin on a muslim hijabi site. Just a suggestion though.

I think I’m going to buy that leopard print one. So pretty! And maybe the striped one? Thanks for showing us these skirts!

@A Said, I don’t think We Love Hijab did the photo shoot for these pictures and I think that we can handle seeing a belly button or two. Geesh!

@Sarah, Sis Kima picks the best stuff doesn’t she?! I bought the Marc Jacobs snakeskin jacket that she showed us a few weeks ago and I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE IT!

I like maxi skirts because sometimes I want to wear a shirt that just can’t be worn on pants or tight jeans without looking a little too short. But I prefer skirts that are of a more durable fabric so they look more professional and less color specific. These skirts are good for the summer, but for the fall and winter it’s best to try something sturider!

@ Fayrouz – I bought a couple of smarter plain maxi skirts from H&M (www.hm.com) that I wear to work. They aren’t exactly sturdy though but are made of linen and good for summer.

@kamilah yes we can handle a belly button or two lol (as we have them!) but modesty is a part of faith. Also, the more images of properly covered women we see the better in my opinion so that sisters are always inspired and supported to cover, not tempted to uncover.

I love these skirts. But every time I wear maxi skirts I always step on them and trip over them. Are they hemable or do you have any tips?
