Hijab Style Finds : Paisley Maxi Dress

Hijab Style Finds : Paisley Maxi DressToday’s Hijab Style Find is this gorgeous paisley print maxi dress by One World. This dress is so pretty, don’t you think? I am in love with everything about it, from the elegant paisley print to the vibrant colors. And the fact that this dress costs less than $50 makes me like it even more.

Hijab Style Tip:
The neckline on this dress is much more low-cut than it appears to be in the picture (I edited the pic a little bit for modesty’s sake), so wearing this type of dress would require either a huge hijab (think mini-burka style) or a high-neck tee or tank. And then of course you’d want to add a cardigan or jacket to complete the look.

I’m seeing this print everywhere so I’m really over it. I wouldn’t recommend buying it.

This fashion is definitely in Singapore. How I wear it:
1)wear long-sleeve top inside (mustn’t be tight)
2)wear tights/stockings underneath to ensure that our legs will not be seen. sometimes when we don’t realise it, we tend to walk and slide some cloth and show off our legs.
3)wear the maxi dress
4)wear a matching coloured hijab that is long enough to cover the low-cut shape present in the dress

TIP: Try not to show off the chest area when wearing your Hijab because it will attract attention. Hence, the need for a large scarf to cover the low-cut shape.

Wasalam.

Quick question to all sisters who wear abayas or maxi dresses: What do you wear inside such that the abaya/dress doesn’t cling onto your legs? Whether it’s a long dress or knee length top with pants, I have problems with them sticking to my pants and revealing my figure (my behind). Also the knee-length tops keep bunching upward and look more like mid-tight length. Any tips? I’m not sure if a slip will do the job. Thanks!

Salaam–

I have this question too!! Thanks for asking hopefully we get good feedback, inshAllah! So far, I’ve realized that cotton does NOT work b/c it clings… and pantyhose clings too (and uncomfortable)! So…. I use more of a ’stretchy-latexy’ type of material that goes to the ankles which has been some what successful. The only thing is… I have only have 1 pair!! Where can I find these things?! :)
