HIJAB FASHION TRENDS : FALL 2009 – RUFFLES
Update! You can find three abayas with ruffles on them at a website called: Abaya Love. This is one of the websites that I designed recently… If you need a web designer for your blog, masjid (<--- click), or business, please contact me. – By the way, this is part of the reason for the lack of posts on We Love Hijab, I’ve been busy working alhamdulillah!
Ruffles are a huge fashion trend this season – and they are everywhere! Yesterday at the mall, I saw at least 4 ruffled shirts or dresses in every store that I went into. Although the ruffled styles were pretty, I was a little disappointed because most of the clothes featured ruffles at the neckline which is always covered up by my hijab. (For an example, click here to see the dress that was featured in the last Hijab Fashion Trends post).
So, how can a hijab-wearing woman get in on this feminine trend? She can wear ruffles on her accessories. In the collage above, you’ll see some gorgeously ruffled bags and shoes. I included low to high-priced items so there is something for everyone…
Obviously, I’m loving this fashion trend… But will you be rocking ruffles this Fall?

Heck yes I will!
Those look so cute! And I’m in need of new flats. But what I’d love is to get a ruffled bag, how gorgeous :D
Yesterday I bought this cute slighlty wedged whole shoes that had the ruffling detailing at the top, it’s in a velvety material in a deep violet colour :) I’m in love with them!
Ha what a coincidence, just yesterday I bought a pair of ruffley flats from Payless! The shoes in your collage are much more gorgeous [esp. the plum pump!!], but unfortunately I have no idea how to walk properly in heels:(
As Muslimas we shouldn’t wear high heels.
Ruling concerning high heeled shoes. shaikh Ibn Baz
q. What is the Islamic ruling concerning wearing high heeled shoes?
a. The least that can be said is that it is disliked. First, is a kind of deception because it makes woman look taller than she is. (the least)
I saw similar shoes at payless as well with a heel, they were around $24
So it’s not just me! I thought I had been seeing ruffles everywhere, more than usual this season. :-) I think they’re cute and feminine I got a sweater cardigan from Victoria’s Secret that’s very ruffly; you can check it out here:

Actually VS has a lot of cute cardis and believe it or not a lot of them are Muslimah-friendly.
I love pretty shoes, but we need to be honest with ourselves here. These are not every-day shoes for a modest muslim woman. These are the kind of shoes I would wear once a year to a special wedding, and usually that’s with a long skirt over them. A hijab and clothing that covers up contradicts with making calves, legs and toes all sexy looking. I’m not perfect, just wanted to share my opinion.
I totally agree with you. You can mix and match contemporary trends with the hijab. And it doesn’t have to be matchy matchy either. I believe it’s more stylish to match a plain hijab with a patterned top or a patterned hijab with a plain top. Have fun experimenting!
i like this accessoires and i see that so amazing but with the clothes of hijab i think that High heels prohibeted so i prefer the simple heels this my opinion
