HIJAB STYLE FINDS : TIERED LONG PEASANT SKIRT

Salam ladies! WE LOVE HIJAB is back! I’ve been gone for about 3 months but for good reason. I’ll explain soon, inshallah. For now, thank you so much for sticking with me and for all of your well wishes. Please enjoy today’s Hijab Style Find…

*UPDATE: A We Love Hijab Reader let me know that the cardigan pictured above is actually 3/4 sleeve. That info is not included in the product description for the cardigan so I didn’t know that when I made this post. If you do buy it you would of course need to wear something to cover the rest of your arm (like a long sleeve black tee or something). Just a little FYI.*

Today’s Hijab Style Find, is this pretty long skirt by Chadwicks. More than anything, I love the $25 price tag (!!), but I also love the fact that this skirt has a modern tiered design and it comes in some juicy, Summery colors.

I would wear this long skirt with a white tank top, a lightweight black cardigan, and black strappy sandals. For the hijabs, I chose a stripe-printed hijab that features all of the colors in my outfit.

What do you think: Are you feeling today’s Hijab Style Find? And how would you wear it?

Salaam to everyone and and welcome back Kima!

I like this outfit — nice colors and very put-together without being overly matchy-matchy.

Has anyone actually bought and worn the Chadwicks skirt? It looks lovely in the photo but I’d want to confirm the fabric feel before buying it….a flowy-style skirt in a stiff fabric would make me sad :(

I’ve been looking for long tiered skirts like this, so I’m happy to see it — thanks!

I have one similar to that. Except its green. I wear it with a white shirt and a checkered vest- Unbuttoned of course. :)

Salaam alaikum,
Alhumdulillah sister your back! I think we were all worried about you.

Meg 08.07.09 at 5:11 pm

I actually am wearing that Old Navy cardigan right now! It’s very cute and comfortable, but it has 3/4 sleeves, which most people might not like.

WE LOVE HIJAB 08.07.09 at 6:06 pm

Thanks for the warm welcome ladies… you know Meg, I was wondering if it had 3/4 sleeves or not but I didn’t see anything about 3/4 sleeves in the description so I figured it was long sleeves. When I have time I will edit the post to reflect that inshallah. Thanks! (=^.^=)

Salaams Rehana,

I’m a big fan of cute little flats. The problem with flats in my opinion is that they can look casual, which isn’t great for work. My favorite pair has a tiny heal (1/4 inch) that makes it look like a real shoe instead of a slipper (they are Calvin Klein from the DSW clearance rack). Also, I find that wearing metallic or patent flats or ones with some embellishment (a bow or flower on the toe) makes them dressier.

I wear flats almost every day.

Melissa 08.24.09 at 6:04 pm

That pink skirt is so cute!

Maryam 08.25.09 at 4:58 pm

Salam Alakum,

About the heels, Rehana, I think you need to do what is comfortable for you. however, who says a tall woman can’t wear heels. I am 5′11″ and wear heels..I may look like a giant, but a stylin’ giant ;-) ..Although, the ones featured are a little too tall and strappy for my taste, they are cute. My favorites everyday wedges are from sketchers…. they are not that tall but actually go with everything I own.. from maxi dresses, to jeans to abayas… Be proud of your height. I love flats too but I don’t think there is any rule saying tall women should not wear heels.

I love this website!!! And this outfit is SOO cute!! I’d love to wear it for Eid, only the black long sleeve would be replaced with a white one, if I’d wear it for Eid. But it still looks great!! Glad your back!
=)

Hi there,
I’m a Christian gal and I chanced upon your website when I was looking for modest clothing styles.
I think your collages of clothing styles are really good and keeping with the faith of modesty for women and not attracting wanton attention from unwanted people/sources, especially of men.
I’m quite a modest dresser (showing only the hands and head) and I had been running out of clothes combinations to provide adequate coverage in keeping with the faith.

Thanks, and keep up the good work! :)
God bless!

Faye.

fareedah 09.27.09 at 11:13 pm

wow, dis is my 1st time on dis site and am really loving it, more sisters should come here, maybe it would encourage them in dressing islamically…

kahleeka 09.29.09 at 9:24 am

hi fareedah , I agree and where are you from my family memeber name is fareedah . I am curious to know if this is her.

Cal 01.15.10 at 3:29 pm

I am not Muslim, I am non-religious. But I appreciate stylish modest wear and have been enjoying this website. I am thinking about wearing head covering in support of voluntary hijab. I will not promote any particular faith, though. I support modesty and freedom!

Chirag 01.29.10 at 12:26 pm

Any non-muslim is allowed to associate with any muslim without any discrimination.
Don’t worry.

I’m a guy but just letting atleast some people know here that is all fine.

Bayan 04.18.10 at 1:32 am

Wow, mashallah, I really love that skirt to pieces! Flowy skirts are my FAVE style! I’d wear this with flats, because I like flats and I do cover my feet now (rock on socks). I wouldn’t wear black with this though, I’d rather wear the same color ALL OVER!!!! (in my dreams XDDD)
