To the sister who made this clip. Dont be disheartend by the people who dont know how to give sincere advice, they may have tiny amount of knowledge and that tiny knowledge can somtimes cause one to be arrogant. They are not better than you. If one has true knowledge it causes them to be more humble and kind hearted towards people. "A sin that causes guilt is more beloved to Allah than good that causes arrogance"

So if we think about it they need to start looking at them selves (their heart). When asked why he didn't criticize others, a scholar replied: There is so much I want to criticize of myself, why concentrate on others? .

"Sticking feathers on your but does not make you a chicken!" Tyler Durden "Growing a beard or putting on a niqaab/hijab/scarf does not make you pious. It is piety that causes you to grow your beard or cover up with haya!" people forget this point!

Assalam Saafia,

I read your post and thanks for being so candid. It takes a lot of guts to speak your mind outloud. :)

I think you should seek different company. You have nothing to gain from your friends as they sound like there are some FUNDAMENTALLY wrong things with them. For one, they seem to be hypocrits as they wear the hijab for the wrong reasons (not to protect their modesty); they lie to their families (go to other cities and do things any decent family wouldn't approve of); they seem to enjoy actions that are hateful to our creator (a good muslim would never feel good after disgracing himself/herself). And what is sadder is that they think they are fooling everyone but they are only fooling and wronging their own souls (Allah knows all we do and think ;)

Going clubbing, kissing boys, lying to parents is not living life, sister. These actions are tempting (Islam warns us that dunya is tempting) but it is only its glitter you are seeing. Underneath it all there is illness and degradation. It eats a person from the inside....just like a worm eats a healthy apple. ;)
Would you risk doing these actions in the name of so called "living life" in return for a lifetime filled with regret? Regret is like a heavy stone that never leaves the heart because you cannot turn time back.

Do you really want to live life?
1) Change your friends. Hang out with GOOD muslims because we learn from those who are better then us.
2) Concentrate on things that please Allah. Pray, pray, pray. Consistently pray. I cannot emphasize this enough because it will protect you from all evil Allah has created and it will guide you in the right path.
3) Occupy your mind with constructive things that will benefit you in the next life, like learning and reading Quran.
4) Last, study hard and get a college degree. If possible go for a post grad degree. Make us all proud. Allah loves people who strive for knowledge.

Why should you wear the hijab? Keep praying and learning about Islam and the answer will come to you. ;) You are lucky though because you are already comfortable with it. I wore it at the tender age of 30 (lol) and it was a hard path to get there. When I finally did it I wished I had done it longggggg time ago. And all these lost years make me sad and it is a regret I have to live with. And as I said, regret never leaves the heart.

Good luck to you and remember...whatever you do, it is only you who will benefit or get harmed by them. We are here just to give advice because we care about you. :)

Salaam alaikum wa rahmatulahi wa barkatuhu sisiter saafia. I read your post and i thin k that you should definitly keep it on. When i ask alot of girls why they don't wear hijab, they say because i've never worn it from a young age and so it's realy hard to wear all of a sudden, or that they don't feel confident enough or just because they're not ready and want to enjoy freedom more. The thing is i didn't wear hijab from young age, i'm 24 now and it was only last year muharram when something clicked and i just started to realise whats important to me. I was blessed by Allah swt to follow the right path. It was hard at first cos everyone was like, whats happened to her and work colleagues would stare, but i did it. I am now realy happy and would not take it off for anything. All i know is that when judgement day comes and Allah swt questions me about this what answer do i give him, do u know the power of allah, u can't even imagine what he can do and the punishments. Enjoying and hvin freedom now wont help in afterworld. This world is only a short holiday but the hereafter is the for ever and eternity. Would you rather enjoy your freedom of non hijab in this short holiday or enjoy the afterlife forever with peace and luxuries with many rewards. Just imagine when Allah asks you and your heart starts pounding and you feel sick to the stomach on wht answer to reply with. You have come this far and because you have worn it since a young age you have an advantage of not having to get used to it first. Sister i would realy recommend you keep it on for your secirity and gates to janaa. Don't know if you heard story of lady that died and didn't wear hijab and was punished in grave after burial. I don't know what more i can say. As for the girl in the video clip, i think the makeup should not be put on specially when advertising how to wear hijab. Your trying to get message accross to sisters about islam so it's not a good video for younger sisters who don't have much knowledge on islam. I think alhamdullilah for showing how to wear hijab but the makeup isn't a good thing specially when it's very noticeable. I'm not trying to offend her but islamically it's wrong and i know this froma lot of muslim scholars. Yes she looks nice but beatifying yourself for others to see apart from your husband is not permitted in islam. That's why i have completely given up these things for love of Allah swt. I am now happy than i've ever been. Hope it helps
