Winter Hijab Fashion Tips

Video : Winter Tips for Hijabis by thevintagegoth

I found this hijab video on YouTube tonight. In the video, the sister is giving a few tips for hijabis to use in the Winter time. The one that I really like is the first tip, which is to wear two hijabs instead of one in the Winter. Instead of wearing a really thick scarf (which I never do… I just suffer through the cold air until I get in the car!), she says to wear your usual hijab and then wrap a thicker scarf around your head. You’ll see in the video!

Tell us, what are your tips for how to wear hijab in the Winter time?

Wear an underscarf always in winter, and wear a real coat. Also, buy a thin long-underwear set and wear it under your abaya, etc. Also, if you don’t already, always wear pants under abaya, too (hadith from the Prophet (saw) says you should do that anyway, I read.)

I wear two hijabs too! Mainly because it feels like winter 9 months out of the year here in lovely rainy washington state, haha. I’m thankful the layered look is fashionable cuz you have to wear several layers to keep warm, and it also makes for cute outfits with all the different pieces together. =) even a tank top under a shirt makes extra warmth. and I always wear pants under my skirts… not only for keeping warm but it gets windy here and it’s nice to not have to worry if the skirt blows up!

Hi,
Me too I wear two hijabs! But uphere it is sooooo cold that I use a thick pachmina as a second layer and wear it like a niqab! It is the tradition here to wear a scarf until the eyes when it is very cold.

It is very beautiful the way she wears it. Also I loved the idea of hijab and hood.

u r weird, those boyish clothes are haram for girls, and u r more weird if u wear them with the scarf!!! i hate wearing two scarves any season as it blocks the air going into your skin and let’s not talk about the tight area under the neck
wear 1 scarf and even if it’s thick fold it around your ponytale at the back and u’ll feel so light and confortable

Hoods the way to go for me!!
I usually just wear my GIRLY hooded jacket, and use the hood when it gets nippy.

I might try the double hijab or layered hijab, as some girls wear.

Thanks for the post.

Salams ladies.

Cool tips! As a new sister, who has just started to wear hijab, the coming winter has made me worried and confused. Here in Finland it’s almost arctic weather during winter and how to keep my head from freezing has been a puzzle for me, until now.

Also the hoodie tip was good, since I wear them a lot during fall and winter. I get chills so easily that hoodies are the only clothes that keep me warm. :P

Thanks for this post! :)

dont think syaing someone is weird is the way to encourage the hijab. think that each person should wear what feels most natural and comfy with their hijab for as long as its respectable and portrays the image and belife of a true muslima.
