ISLAMIC CLOTHING FINDS

Today’s Adore Du Jour is this cute little dress by Sweetees. The dress has a nice a-line shape which falls away from the body, making it perfect to wear as a top with wide-leg pants. I chose salt-and-pepper tweed pants to create this look and finished it off with a black hijab and patent accessories. It makes for chic office-wear, don’t you think?

1. High-Waist Wide-Leg Tweed Pants ($59+) 2. Black Silk Scarf with Embroidery and Crystals ($35.95) 3. Abas Twinkle Cylinder Clutch ($138) 4. Guess Falballa Peep-Toe Pumps ($79.99)

Love the look this creates.Totally dig the dress n pants. For me maybe too matchy matchy. I’d wear a pair of bold coloured shoes though like gold , red or cab-yellow!

Assalam-alaikam,
mash’Allah love the dress and the green with the grey. Oh look, your patent-penchant is showing again. Very pretty scarf too.

Asalaam alaikum,
I was just thinking of office wear. This is very cute. The pants are ridiculous!!

I love this outfit, i have a shirt kinda like that one i just need some tweed pants now. oh and i looovvvee that scarf.

Saira 04.24.08 at 6:50 pm

I love the dress, because there’s no layering needed…especially when it gets hot outside, you don’t want too many layers! Very pretty…I like the pattern of the scarf, too!

I love your blog and it gives me lots of great style ideas. I’d like to see you put together some outfits that are a little more affordable that feature pieces from like H&M or even Target. I am a sistah on a budget! :)LOVE LOVE this outfit btw!

i agree, this is “chic office-wear”. and the pants are hot! even muslim girls can use a little slimming ’cause it makes your clothes fit better. NICE! and i don’t think it’s too matchy matchy. i think i get what you’re doing here by adding the print in the pants. if the pants were black it would be matchy matchy but still nice nevertheless. but adding the tweed print in the pants makes it extra stylish. idk, gold shoes would’ve been too much for work. maybe after work though!!

rayna 04.24.08 at 9:52 pm

OH I LOVE THIS! that dress is also in black and i need both! hehe jazaks we love hijab!

Normeen 04.24.08 at 10:04 pm

This is great how you mix runway with hijab!! Sweetees is JLo’s brand right?

Sarah 04.24.08 at 10:51 pm

I EMAILED SIS KIMA AND SHE SAID THAT SHE’S GOING TO DO A MODESTY 4 LESS ARTICLES SO LOOK FORWARD TO THAT MUNEERA, I AM!!!!!!!!

farah 04.25.08 at 12:00 am

It looks great but… too hot!… its practically summer time… maybe give some cooler suggestions… especially since hijabis are all covered up.

Ayan 04.25.08 at 12:09 am

I <3 THAT TOP … SUCH A BEAUTIFUL COLOR!!
THIS WHOLE OUTFIT IS JUST AWESOME THANKS FOR SHAIRING :)

Nafeesa 04.25.08 at 1:04 am

I loooove this outfit and immediately thought of office wear when I saw it! the pants are my fav…like Atiqa I would do a bold shoe too, definitely a red.

nashaislem 04.25.08 at 1:26 am

love the chic office look! but i can’t rock the high-waist pants. they’ll make my legs look stumpy -_- but ppl will only see it past the bum..so it’ll still look good..hehe :)

Riya 04.25.08 at 2:46 am

This is pretty. It’s a jersey dress girls, so it wouldn’t be hot :D

tameye 04.25.08 at 4:24 am

love those pants.

Nadia 04.25.08 at 2:43 pm

Assalamalikum. Would not wear this cause the top clings too much on the chest. This is not a islamic hijab. It is as bad as the legging in the picture below which is a no no. The scarf is pretty.

Riya 04.25.08 at 9:15 pm

Nadia have you ever heard of drawing your veil over your bosom???????? :D

sheila 04.25.08 at 11:04 pm

I agree Riya! Sheesh does WE LOVE HIJAB have to start making disclaimers on every post? I think we should all already know that we have to cover our chest, plus in the “7 Things” article, she already said that you have to be sure to cover your chest. :D KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK KIMA, YOU’RE ALL GOOD HONEY!!

Nadia 04.26.08 at 1:17 am

hon i know the chest has to be covered but even with a big scarf this wont cover the whole chest. And the fabric is tooo thin. I like the outfit but i dont think it is islamic

Danielle 04.26.08 at 1:45 am

buy the top in a size larger, and u wont have the prob of it being too tight, right? >.>
thats what i do…PLUS pull ur scarf over it…nothing can ever be too tight if u buy it in a loose enough size.
i would like the top except for the neck part, it would make me too hot when i wrap my hijab around =(
but i loooove those pants!!! and the scarf too….nice outfit overall =)

sara 04.26.08 at 3:30 am

I like the dress, but $100 is a little too steep for me =(

Riya 04.26.08 at 3:55 am

Nadia, I don’t even get what you’re saying. A big scarf will cover your whole chest area if you wrap it properly. It is Islamic ;D

elizabeth abdur rahman 04.26.08 at 10:59 pm

This is so good for corporate wear! Oh if you think the dress would be hot, it looks like good wool jersey fabric so it won’t be. {Remember that guys wear good wool suits year-round! Wool jersey is thin and high quality so it’s fine!} Oh if you think it won’t cover you up, you have to use a big scarf and that will cover your boobies. Anything that’s tight on top needs a long hijab to fix it. ~__- WINKS!!

This site is really awsome! Great ideas for office wear or a wonderful sister outing! However are high heels halal??? I was told that chic flats, boots, and sporty like shoes were fine. But High heels weren’t because overtime it damages the alignment of the spine tilts the pelvis and imitates the Kuffer.

aisha 05.05.08 at 2:13 am

Sallam Ya Ukhti Kima and all Sisters,

As always, I’m digging your style. Forever 21 has a great super-comfy and baggy pair of slacks like that… although they are hip-huggers which I find more comfortable.

You’re a stylish phenom girl.

Peace,
aisha
